ACCREDITATION:
Trends in Patient Management 2008 offers 30 hours of Category I CME (pending approval by the American Academy of Physician Assistants).
Included will be lectures intended to fulfill the State of Maryland requirements for Pharmacology and End of Life CME for PAs licensed in the State of Maryland.
Participants are expected to attend all lectures to be eligible for full credit. CME certificates will be available at the end of the conference. Credits must be claimed and submitted by attendees on an individual basis. Lecturers for this program include practitioners affiliated with Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland as well as other hospitals in the Baltimore area. Lecturers will provide you with current educational updates in their particular field of medicine. As a conference attendee you can expect to expand your knowledge base to include new and improved treatment modalities in order for you to give the best quality of care to your patients. There are a wide variety of medical lectures and hands on workshops which provide an excellent educational opportunity.

annual Medical Challenge Bowl. Each team shall consist of three physician

Once again, MAPA is offering a 5K Fun Run/Walk to take place on the
beach. It is open to all conference participants and guests. The fee is
$15.00 per person. All proceeds to benefit the St. Vincent’s Center for
abused children. All participants will receive a Fun Run/Walk T-shirt
and prizes will be awarded. Come out and join your fellow colleagues in
a challenging run on the beach. Enjoy a healthy start to your day while
taking in the Atlantic Ocean. |

Sandcastle Building Contest and
Beach Volleyball |

While you are earning valuable CME, there will be the opportunity for
your family to participate in a fun sandcastle building contest on the beach
in front of the Clarion Hotel. This event is open to all registrant, guests and
families. Challenge each other with a fun and relaxing sandcastle building
contest. Some sand buckets and shovels will be provided. Please feel free
to bring other sand buckets with you. There will also be beach volleyball
nets set up if you would like to participate in a beach volleyball game. |

Skills Testing Saturday |
Once again you have the opportunity to recertify your BLS and
ACLS certification at the MAPA conference through Anytime
Med-Ed. Complete the written exam online and bring completion
certificate with you to the conference to complete the 30 minute
hands-on evaluation. Skills testing will take place Saturday from

Prudential Financial Dinner/Workshop |

Prudential Financial will offer a dinner workshop on financial
planning and asset protection to conference registrants. The
informative workshop will take place on Saturday evening from 6:30
pm until 8:30 pm downstairs in the Grand Ballroom at the Clarion.

Hotel room rates are per room per night, based on single or double occupancy. There is a charge of $15 per night for each additional adult per room. Children 17 and under stay free in their parent's room using existing bedding. Please note that room types are based upon availability and are subject to a 10.5% tax. A one-night deposit is required to guarantee reservations at the Clarion Fontainbleau Hotel. Credit cards will be charged for one night, plus tax, upon reservation request. Please note that only major credit cards or cash are accepted at check-in for settlement of account. No personal checks will be accepted. There are no refunds for early departure and a 72 hour notice is required for cancellation or change.
RESERVATIONS:
Be sure to identify yourself as part of the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants to obtain discounted rate. Space is limited, so please make your reservation early. Reservations must be made by August 9, 2008 to obtain the discounted room rate. Reservations made after that will be on a space and rate availability basis. Parking is free to all conference attendees whether staying at the hotel or commuting on a daily basis.

REFUND POLICY:
Refunds requested prior to 8/22/08 are subject to a $50.00 administration fee.
