The need to continuously monitor and address legislative issues from both friendly and unfriendly souces is often overlooked given the magnitude of the issues; an example is the bill for PA prescriptive privileges. The number of PAs is growing every year, which is great, but so are those other providers. MAPA fights continuously to keep your scope of practice broad here in Maryland which is always under fire by others. Reimbursement, managed care and scope of practice legislation are issues which can affect our livelihood.
