Patient Satisfaction PI-CME Workshop with 20 additional hours of PI (Performance Improvement) CME to be completed at home (not inclusive of the two hours of live CME)

Everyone will soon have to do PI projects as part of the new NCCPA requirements, so get your PI project out of the way now by taking this workshop. Learn valuable patient satisfaction tools and start your PI project at the same time! No more worrying about creating a project on your own! This project is ready for you! All you have to do is provide the patients! Completion will satisfy the NCCPA PI-CME requirement. This Performance Improvement CME program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 20.00 AAPA 1 PI-CME credits by the Physician Assistant Review Panel.

 

Essential Procedures for the Urgent and Primary Care Provider Workshop

This 4 hour workshop is designed to teach the provider a multitude of procedures that are commonly seen in an urgent care setting. Procedures include painless anesthesia, incision and drainage of abscesses, drainage of paronychias, nail bed injuries, fish hook injuries and much more. This workshop would be beneficial to all emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care and family medicine PA’s.

 

Fracture Care Workshop

This 2 hour workshop will review common fractures, interpretation of x-rays, and appropriate fracture management. The participant will learn to identify and describe the various types of fractures and implement the appropriate care.

 

Mastering the EKG Workshop

This workshop is designed to teach the provider a step-by-step approach to interpreting both basic and advanced EKG’s. Participants will be given the tools they need to rapidly dissect any EKG and determine the EKG norms and abnormalities. All PAs, working in inpatient, outpatient, emergency rooms and subspecialties will benefit from this course.

 

Interpreting the CXR

This workshop is designed to teach the provider an approach to interpreting the chest radiograph. The workshop will provide a review of chest anatomy. A systematic assessment of the CXR will be demonstrated and diseases of the chest, lungs, and heart will be discussed with inclusion of their radiographic findings.

 

Basic EKG Workshop for Students and Newly Practicing PAs

This workshop is designed to teach the student a clear and defined step by step approach to interpreting EKG’s. The EKG concepts will be directed to PA students and those PAs new to medicine.
Suturing Techniques for Superficial Wounds Workshop

This Workshop is designed for both, the provider who has limited or no suturing experience, as well as, the provider who has regular suturing experience. It consists of a lecture and hands on practicum.
Each participant will be given a Workshop hand-out, Ethicon Wound Closure Manual, instruments that may be retained for home practice, suture materials, Ethicon Knot Tying Board and Knot Tying Manual for home practice.
The session commences with a 50 - 60 minute lecture covering:
Principles of Wound Handling
Suture and Needle Selection
Instrument Handling
Superficial Wound Closure Techniques
Wound Coverage, Dressings and Tape
Suture Removal
Rapid Response Workshop

This workshop is designed to teach the provider a systematic approach to the acutely ill patient. Participants will be given the tools they need to quickly sort out complicated situations and make crucial decisions during the first 5 minutes of a patient encounter. Inpatient, emergency room and outpatient PAs will benefit from this scenario based course.

 

ACLS and BLS Initial Certification and Recertification

MAPA is again providing ACLS and BLS recertification training. This year we are also offering initial certification for those PAs that are interested. Advanced Care Training, LLC will be offering expedited certification and recertification for ACLS and BLS. The costs of these courses will be $205.00 for ACLS and $65.00 for BLS. This year Advanced Care Training will be offering these courses to those individuals who prefer to do mostly online training and once you register you will receive a code via email for the online portion of the certification. You will then stop in to one of the sessions on Saturday September 17th during the conference to complete the skills portion of the certification which should only take about 45 minutes. Once the code is activated there will be no cancellation or refunds given.

MAPA has partnered with CME4Life to bring back the Patient Satisfaction PI CME offering. The two hour workshop of Category 1 CME will be awarded to you by MAPA. You will also be eligible for 20 credits of PI-CME, preapproved through CME4Life and awarded by CME4Life, once your take home PI project is completed submitted to CME4Life directly. Learn valuable patient satisfaction tools and earn PI-CME at the same time!
